Popular QuadFlex Cushioning Included
The popular QuadFlex cushioning is a set of four shock absorbers on each side of the running deck that provide “give” as the user runs or walks on the deck above. Professional reviewers commonly mention this popular feature as do regular users who rate the product online.
The advantage of the QuadFlex is that it gives more comfort that running outdoors, even on dirt, can offer by providing allowing the deck to sink a little with each landing which reduces stress on feet, knees backs and leg joints. It’s definitely one of the most popular features of NordicTrack treadmills.
Polar Wireless Chest Pulse for Hands-Free Heart Rate Monitoring
Monitoring one’s heart rate while working out is important to know whether you’re getting the cardio or weight loss benefits you’re aiming for. The Commercial 1500 has a wireless heart rate monitor that keeps up a continuous reading of your heart rate while working out. The rate is displayed on the screen so you can adjust incline or speed right away to stay in the target zone.
The advantage of the Polar wireless is that the heart monitoring is ongoing. The Commercial 1500 also has the handgrip mounted heart rate monitor too, but the handgrips can be hard to hold onto, especially continuously, when doing steep or fast workouts.
24 Pre-programmed Workouts
For fast start workouts in a variety of disciplines the Commercial 1500 has twenty-four preset routines. Chose from workouts focusing on intensity, speed, inclines or calories.
RaceTrack Display and iFit Live Compatible BUT…
When it comes to the display and the integration with the iFit Live (a component option which is sold separately) the Commerical 1500 has the same issue as the C900. The Commercial 1500 can work with the iFit live and it will record your workouts to the iFit website and software if there a wireless internet connection is present. Also, in order to use iFit’s visual features like Google Maps and Google Street View running courses, it will be necessary to add a laptop computer or tablet computer (such as the iPad) to the machine.
Decline to -3% for Workout Variety, Up to 15% Incline
Few treadmills for home use offer a decline setting. Decline walking and running has become popular lately because it adds variety to workouts and works different muscle groups in the legs than level and incline workout settings.
The NordicTrack Commerical 1500 declines to -3% and has an unusually high incline setting of 15%, one of the highest in the industry. The incline and decline increments can be accessed by a one-touch operation instead of having to use the up and down arrows.
Full Suite of Additional Features
The NordicTrack Commercial 1500 also comes with a 8” fan that adjusts speed based on intensity of workout (can also be wet manually. There is an iPod-type jack and an Intermix Acoustics 3.0 sound system. Like the other C models, the 1500 also has a deck that raises up (called the Spacesaver Design with Easylift Assist) to reduce the floor space taken up by the 60” long treadmill deck.
The Commerical 1500 Treadmill speeds range from 1 to 12MPH and like the incline the speed can be set with a single touch instead of having to go through the range using up and down arrows.
